Firebird is the trusty familiar of the peasant which fights enemies with fireballs.
This familiar is the second familiar available and is unlocked when you unlock Griswold, the Collector.
Familiar Information[ | ]
This familiar will occasionally shoot fireballs at the enemy that was last 
targeted by a range attack.
If the target is surrounded by more Enemies, they will get hit as well.
At level one
- Fireballs deal 50% of the peasant's Throw Damage
- Fireball ignite damage is 25% of the peasant's Throw Damage
At 250 XP the Firebird will reach level two (Fire Attunement) which will increase fire damage by 50%
- Fireballs deal 75% of the peasant's Throw Damage
- Fireball ignite damage is 37.5% of the peasant's Throw Damage
At 700 XP the Firebird will reach level three (Conflagrate) which will double the duration that enemies are on fire for (from 5s to 10s).
Enemy Interactions[ | ]
- Will target and attack
Gargoyle, Fiery Glomp, Fiery Uberglomp but will not damage them due to their fire immunity. - While attacking the Lightning Mite, the attacks do not count as the player damaging it, and therefore the player will not be damaged.
- Deal 50% damage to Selt as she is strong against fire damage.
Familiar Experience[ | ]
The Firebird gains:
- 2 XP per killed enemy this includes:
- Enemies affected by environmental damage (like Spikes)
- Rat Nest and Spider Nest, but not theScale Tunnel itself.
- Rat Nest's spawn, Spider Nest's spawn and Scale Tunnel's spawn
- Rockpile Mimic
- Bathcat and Toadvine
- Spawned skeleton from a Sitting Skeleton
- Noori, Spectre of Darkness
- Goblin Scavenger's Tickers from Ticker Mine, but not the Ticker is thrown at you
- Ponzu, Scaled Assembly (regardless of the amount of heads in the room)
- Enemies affected by environmental damage (like
- 6 XP for killing Mortar (2 XP for each of his hands)
- 36 XP for killing Selt
- 40 XP per floor in Othermine.
- 20/40/60/80/100 XP per floor in the 5 zones of Undermine respectively.
The Firebird won't gain XP from:
- Larva
- Vilepot
- Necromancer spawned Skeletons
- Arachnophobia spawned Spiders
- Enemies that fall into pits
Familiar Style[ | ]
The Familiar style for Firebird is called Furious Black and it can only be unlocked on a WHIP that assigns Firebird.
The Requirements for getting the Familiar Style is
- Greater than 100 000 points
- Make it to the Endroom
Positive Interactions[ | ]
- Cosmic Egg gives additional xp for each enemy hit and floor change.
- Biscuits give additional xp for each enemy hit and floor change.
Some items are more effective when firebird reaches level 2 and 3:
- Large Ember deals 3-5 fire damage instead.
- Immolation Potion deals a bit more fire damage.
- Galoshes becomes less dangerous.
- Salamander Tail deal a bit more damage, also longer ignite when firebird reaches level 3.
- Seer's Blood's fire pool becomes less dangerous to the player and more dangerous to enemies.
- Fury Potion Deals more damage and ignite lasts longer (on level 3).
- Gordon's Tunic reduce fire damage to around 0-1 which synergize with some Curses such as Waking Light and Rain of Fire, making them useful to the player.
- Seertooth Deal more fire damage and ignite lasts longer (level 3).
