The Mushroom Quest is a quest given to the player by Beltrame in the Goldmine.
It involves gathering 3 types of mushroom to unlock the Laboratory and Baba, the Alchemist.
It is unknown if the mushrooms generate in a specific order.
The quest is started by talking to Beltrame in this room:
Nightshade[]
First you must find a bombable wall
Then you will find some enemies in the room with a sign. The sign says "The mushroom grows in darkness."
Destroy all the lights in the room to obtain the Nightshade Mushroom
Shiitake[]
First you must find a bombable wall
When entered there will be rats destroying mushrooms
Kill the rats and talk to Matsutake to obtain the 
Shiitake Mushroom
Blastcap[]
You must find this room:
Place a bomb in the middle of the circle to obtain the
Blastcap Mushroom
Reward[]
After collecting all 3 mushrooms the player gains the ability to unlock additional potions by crafting them from Baba, the Alchemist.
This quest also yeilds a blueprint for 
Apprentice's Tincture after talking to Beltrame in the Labratory.
